Who Can Pitch?
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to enter the challenge and compete against other Futurepreneurs your own age, no matter where you come from and what your passion is!
The competition is open to:
- Anyone aged 12 to 18 years old
- In or out of school
- Individual or teams
- Pitch ideas or start-up plan
Prizes and Categories
Everyone who participates in the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement, acknowledging your epic ideas and entrepreneurial skills.

How to Enter
The competition is easy to enter! All you need is a laptop, wifi and to follow these three steps:

Enrol Through the Open Learning Portal!
Its free to enter the challenge and there is no penalty if you decide not to enter a pitch for the competition down the track. Once you’ve registered you will have access to:

Prepare Your Competition Entry
You can enter a start-up idea, product solution or business plan you’re already working on in or out of school, or use this as an opportunity to kick-start your entrepreneur journey.
- Identify a real-world problem in the world around and you – your life, your school, your community or the world.
- Watch our webinars or take join Futurepreneurs Academy for inspiration and to help you build entrepreneurial knowledge, mindset and skills.
- Use the templates to help structure your pitch presentation and video

Pitch Deck Requirements
In order to ensure your pitch deck can be judged we will require all submissions to meet the technical specifications below.
- Your Pitch Deck is ideally in Powerpoint or PDF format.
- Templates and tutorials are provided to guide you on presentation flow and so you include the information you need to provide to properly showcase your start-up to us.
- For Junior Categories presentations maximum 15 slides / pages.
- For Senior Categories presentations maximum 20 slides / pages.
Pitch Video
Requirements
In order to ensure your pitch video can be judged we will require all submissions to meet the technical specifications below.
- Your Pitch Video is ideally in .mp4 format.
- It can be a live-to-camera style filmed on your smart phone or, an edited audio-visual presentation.
- Templates and tutorials are provided to guide you on video script and flow, editing for impact and so you include the information you need to provide to properly showcase your start-up to us.
- For Junior Categories videos the maximum length is 3-minutes.
- For Senior Categories videos the maximum length is 5-minutes.

Hot Pitch Workshops
Head over to Open Learning and discover what the hot pitch topics currently are. Our 5 minute educational workshops on each category will help you uncover some key pitch areas, and relevant problems that you can solve as part of your entry.
Judging Rubric
All pitch entrees are targeted to potential investors and will be judged on the following criteria
- Who Are You?: Did they introduce themselves and their program?
Target Customer: Is the target customer clearly identified?
Problem/Need: Is the problem or need of the target customers clear and is there a real problem or need?
Solution: Is the proposed solution (your product/service idea) clear?
Market Potential: Is the size of the industry identified in size (units) and/or $$$?
Uniqueness: Does the solution solve the problem or satisfy a need in a unique manner compared to any alternatives or potential competition?
Benefits and Features: Were the overall benefits and features of the product/service identified clearly?
The Ask: Did they ask the audience to take a clear action?
Clarity and Communication: Is the overall presentation clear and was it communicated well?
WOW Factor: Was there anything that really stood out and impressed you? Did they tell a story? Cool editing or video? (bonus points)
